Beauty is in the nostrils of the beholder (2014)
Aufbauend auf der vorangehenden Serie „In space no one can hear your beauty“, beschäftigt sich auch die Arbeit „Beauty is in the nostrils of the beholder“ mit der Verwirklichung von Schönheitsidealen, der Käuflichkeit von Schönheit und dem Phänomen seinem Körper schmerzen und Fremdkörper zuzuführen um diese Ideale zu erreichen. Radikaler und konsequenter schlüpfen diesmal die Protagonosten nicht nur in vermeintlich schönere, sondern vielmehr in weitaus extremere Körper, wechseln dadurch Geschlecht, Hautfarbe, Grad des Körperschmucks oder körperliche Fitness. Der Gedanke des Überziehens der anderen Identität bleibt als schnelle schmerzfreie Alternative zu Schönheits-OP, Tätowierer oder schweißtreibendem Fitnessstudio.
Based on the previous series "In space no one can hear your beauty", the series "Beauty is in the nostrils of the beholder" also deals with the realization of beauty ideals, the purchasability of beauty and the phenomenon of hurting the body and introducing foreign objects to the it, to achieve these ideals. Radically and consistently, the protagonists slip not only in supposedly more beautiful, but rather in far more extreme bodies, changing sex, skin color, degree of body charm or physical fitness. The thought of dressing the other identity remains as a quick pain-free alternative to beauty surgery, tattoo studio, or sweaty gym.
